As NASCAR driver Erik Jones waits anxiously on a decision on his future, the comeback of Kyle Larson into the NASCAR Cup Series is highly anticipated.
Eric Jones is set to leave the No. 20 ride at Joe Gibbs Racing at the end of the season. With Kyle Larson’s potential return, Jones isn’t sure whether that affects his own chances in Silly Season.
Jones believes Kyle Larson has worked really hard to repair the mistakes he made which led to NASCAR suspending him back in April.
“You never really know, I don’t know if he is coming back. I have no idea. I mean I know he’s worked hard at trying to fix his mistakes, which is very admirable. You can’t fault him for trying to fix what had happened,” Jones said in an interview.
“I hope he can work something out. I don’t know what his decision is will impact mine, I can’t say for sure I know what he’s doing. So I hope something works out for him. Like I said, I think he’s worked hard to try and repair his mistakes and make things better for himself,” Jones said.

The No.20 driver admitted that Kyle Larson’s return will be difficult. – “I know he’s got a pretty tough road to go ahead. To try to get back into the sport, into the Cup level. Not only that but in a top tier ride,” Jones continued.
“You hear everything, something different every day right? Being in this sport, from different people. In what he’s doing, whether he’s coming back, he’s not coming back. If he is coming back, where he’s driving, where he’s not driving,” Jones said further.
Kyle Larson is yet to officially apply for reinstatement into NASCAR. although he has held talks with NASCAR officials a few months ago.
