Kevin Harvick is blowing the competition apart with his performance. The win at Bristol Motor Speedway is his ninth win of the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season.

It felt like the 2020 Cup Championship was going to be a two-horse race after the end of the regular season. Harvick led the win charts with seven wins, followed closely by Denny Hamlin on six. However, at the end of the first round of the playoffs, Harvick has left Hamlin behind with two wins in the three races.

A win in the next seven races will make Harvick only the 11th driver to win 10 races in the season in NASCAR’s modern era. Could this be Harvick’s greatest season till date in his 20th season in NASCAR’s top tier?

“Well, I love that it’s in the conversation of being the greatest season ever,” Harvick said Saturday after his Round of 16 playoff win at BristolMotor Speedway. “Because you look at the sport’s gurus that don’t know a lot about racing, they put these graphs up and talk about where your peak seasons are, where you’re good, where you’re bad. Where you’re good is where you have the best results, and fortunately for me, they’re coming right now.”

Harvick has already crossed his best win record in a season. He had eight wins in 2018 season. Whether he makes it to 10 wins or not, Harvick already has had an exceptional season.

“I don’t know if we’ll make it to 10,” Harvick said. “But we’re going to keep trying to do the best we can every week, and it’s just been an unbelievable year.”
