Kyle Busch gained his best finish of 2020 in the NASCAR Cup Series, his second-place finish at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday night was the first one since the All-Star Race, However, Kyle was clearly frustrated after the race.
Busch himself the defending Cup Series champion dismissed his own chances of making the Round of 8, even before the Round of 12 begins.
“We’ll be eliminated next round. So, don’t care,” Busch said in his post-race media interaction when question of his road ahead in the next round of the playoffs.
Busch has won at least one race per season since the 2005 NASCAR Cup Series, marking 15 consecutive campaigns. That run is tied for the sixth-longest streak in NASCAR history.

“Felt like [Bristol] was one of our greater shots to win,” Busch said. “…Skittles Camry was fast and we had a good car, one that was in contention all night long. Fired off the start of the race, I was like, ‘oh, wow, this is a pretty good car,’ and then got beat by another really good car, I guess.
“Yeah, that’s all there is to it.”
Kyle Busch also went on to call Joey Logano “nobody’s friend for a reason”.
