The playoff elimination race at Bristol Motor Speedway provides reigning Champion Kyle Busch the most realistic chance of ending the season with a win.
Kyle Busch has gone winless in the 28 races so far in the 2020 Cup Series season. Never in his Cup career has the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota driver has gone winless throughout the season.
Speaking about the elimination race at Bristol earlier this month, Busch said:
“You go to Bristol, and you’re like, ‘Damn, that’s my track. I’m going to go there, and I’m going to win that thing.’”
While Busch doesn’t need a win to qualify for the next round, finishing a season with a win would at least boost the morale and continues Busch winning streak.
As for the upcoming races in the next round of the playoffs on tracks like Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway, Charlotte Roval, Busch himself is not sure about performing to his best at these tracks.
“Coming into that second round, we struggle at Vegas,” Busch said. “Talladega is an unknown. We struggle at Roval, so that is definitely a round that we look towards as being a possible hiccup.”
