Christopher Bell needs to find a new ride for the 2021 season as Leavine Family Racing is set to stop operating after the end of the 2020 season.
Given that he is contracted with Toyota, a move to Joe Gibbs Racing could be on the cards. In fact, JGR decided to not extent Erik Jones’ contract beyond the 2020 Cup Series season. This means that they will have one spot left in their team. So, the most obvious move for Bell would be to occupy the seat to be left by Jones after the 2020 season.

However, as any such move news is not officially yet, it leaves room for speculation as to whether Bell might join other teams. The second likely landing spot for Bell is Stewart-Haas Racing. They have two drivers, Clint Bowyer and Aric Almirola, who are in their contract year. With no sign of extension as of yet, SHR might part ways with one or both of them. In that case, Bell could be one of the drivers to line up for SHR in 2021.
The third option for Bell could be to replace Jimmie Johnson behind the wheels of No. 48 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports. After Brad Keselowski signed a contract extension with Team Penske, Hendrick Motorsports might be looking elsewhere to find a replacement, and Bell could just fit the bills.
