Sunday evening, NASCAR Cup Series drivers headed to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Brickyard 400. Drivers were expected to drive 400 miles but an accident on pit road brought the race to a halt. Brennan Poole hit a pit crew member of Ryan Blaney’s team after a nasty collision between several race cars.
Early into the Brickyard 400, when the cars came into pit road, a wreck near the entrance sent cars in all directions. That’s when Brennan Poole’s No. 15 car accidentally swerved right into Blaney’s pit stop, making direct contact with Blaney’s pit crew member.

NASCAR officials immediately waved the red flag as the pit crew member, Zach Price, scooted toward the wall on his backside. He was unable to use his legs, which created fear NASCAR viewers and medical personnel at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. They rushed the ambulance to the pit road and immediately began treating him.

The pit road accident involved Poole, Corey LaJoie, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Martin Truex Jr. Ryan Preece, & Justin Allgaier.
