As Joey Logano admitted to stopping Chase Elliott from winning the race at Homestead-Miami Speedway, will this comment spark a rivalry between the two drivers in the coming days?

When Joey Logano was interested after the race at Homestead-Miami Speedway, he admitted that he held Elliott so that he would not win the race, as per Sporting News.

“Yeah, of course. You race people the way they race you. You can’t do things without repercussions of some sort. You cost me a win, I cost you a win. Those types of things go like that.

“I would assume that everyone kind of understands how that stuff works. And you kind of move on from there.”

Joey Logano was referring to the race at the Bristol Motor Speedway about Elliott costing him a win. Both Logano and Elliott had a chance to win the race with three laps remaining. However, Elliott clashed with Logano’s car, sending the No.22 Ford to the wall. Due to the incident, Logano finished 21st and Elliott 22nd.

So, Logano decided to cost Elliott a win at the race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. With a lap down, Logano stopped Elliott from passing him during the closing laps of the race due to which Denny Hamlin won the race and Elliott finished second.

While Elliott has been in a bust-up before with Kyle Busch, and Elliott was a lot angrier at Busch for having him cost the race than what Joey did. But, Busch said that the incident was unintentional and apologized for the incident on a number of occasions. On the contrary, Logano comes out and tells that he did just to take revenge on Elliott.

While Logano said that he assumes that “everyone kind of understands how that stuff works”, only time will tell if Elliott understands the way stuff works or not.
