Former professional boxer Floyd Mayweather’s NASCAR team is reportedly planning to make its debut in the Cup Series later this year.
At the end of the last year, it was reported that Floyd Mayweather would be involved in a NASCAR team called The Money Team Racing. Further reports emerged earlier this year stating that the team was set to make its Cup series debut this year. However, the season was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic and the reports subsided. However, as the season has resumed again, it seems that the team will stick to its initial plan of making a debut this year.

The team’s website updated their status in support of NASCAR’s recent decisions. It reads:
“We at TMT Racing fully embrace the efforts by NASCAR to recognize the injustices faced by people of color and the need to listen, learn and act.”
As rumoured earlier, Jeffrey Earnhardt will likely be the candidate behind the wheel of the #50 Chevrolet.
