Kyle Larson has “remorse” and wants to “make amends” – Kurt Busch

In a conversation with the Insider, NASCAR driver Kurt Busch explained that Kyle Larson has “remorse” for the incident and wants to “make amends with everything that’s going on”.

Larson has been indefinitely suspended by NASCAR for now. A couple of weeks ago, driver Denny Hamlin too insisted that Larson will have a way to come back to NASCAR racing if he wants too

Kurt Busch, who has been in contact with Kyle Larson said to the Insider:

Jimmie Johnson crashes while leading in Stage 1’s last lap at Darlington

I’ve talked to Kyle Larson a couple of times. You know, it’s a sad situation, a very tough spot that he put the sport in. But I know that he has remorse and he knows that he wants to try to come back to a top-tier team and to try to make amends with everything that’s going on.

I’m proud that he’s applying the things that he needs to do to advance.

Bubba Wallace says some people want to see NASCAR fail on its return

Busch believes that there will be a way for Larson to come back to racing.

It depends, you know, there’s so many different variables, and there’s so many different roads and paths that you can go down. And time will tell. I think that time will be on his side in that he’s, you know, in his twenties and that he’s a very talented racer.

I thank he should be allowed back in.Hes a good guy awsome driver,Anyone can make a mistake. He is sorry.Give him a chance.Worse things has happened and nothing was done. GIVE KYLE A CHANCE!!!

    1. Fred Jackson

I agree he definitely miss spoke.but I also believe he should have a chance to redeem himself. Good luck Kyle.

        1. Richard Langbein

Everyone, well almost. Everyone deserves a second chance, every person on earth has miss spoken at some point. He deserves a second chance.

      1. Hope to see you back soon…. Everyone makes mistakes, as long as you learn from them. You deserve a second chance.

      2. Donna Finley

We all make mistakes. I believe it is way too harsh for Kyle to have to forfeit his NASCAR future because he miss spoke. Are used one word that can be hateful but it clearly was not a mortal sin. He is one of my favorite drivers and I for one want to see him back

      3. Dorothy Thomas

I definitely think he deserves another chance I know he didnt mean it and he will never do it again Nascar please let him race Everyone deserve another chs chance

Its sad that one word can change you life so drastically and the word was not used to hurt any one was not intented to harm anyone and was not intended to be heard by everone I am sure if there was a microphone hooked to most professional athletes they would all loose their jobs in a matter of days and there lot of words worse than the the one he used just saying

    3. Jerald Armstrong

Boycot NASCAR it not like they have made a dam. Mistake.nascar is getting worse and worse. Been a NASCAR car fan for 58 yrs at this time I’m pretty dam disgusted with them and starting to lose interested.

      1. I’ve been watching Nascar for only 8 yrs and Larson was one of the few I liked to watch. I know its a bad spot for Nascar. This simulation racing is a joke even if we are in the middle of a pandemic. For training sure. Are we going to watch football players play madden on x box too. I want the real thing and if I can’t have it I don’t want it at all. And yes u also have started losing interest

SIENC ALL OF TJIS HAS COME OUT I HAVE WARCHED SO MANY MIOVIES THAT HAVE USED THE N WORD IN AND IT JUST BLOWS MY MIND. I HOPE KYLE DOSE COME BACK.
MEL S MARYSVILLE CA ALLWAYS WILL BE KLYE LARSON FAN.

    4. Sheree Malham

Kyle Larson should be allowed to race again. It was not said to hurtful or vindictive. A valuable lesson and I don’t believe it would ever be an issue again.

  2. Look, the young man made a mistake. A second in lapse of brain activity. He has apologised and said he is sorry. Why can’t people accept his apology and move on. He has no history of any kind of racism. Don’t sentence him to life without NASCAR. It would be a great loss for all parties. I refer you to Matthew Chapter 7 verse 2 – For with what judgment ye judge , ye shall be judged.

    1. Yeah he’s a good driver but you know how many I’m sorry that we’ve heard and nothing’s been done sure he deserves a second chance he made a mistake sorry is not good enough

  3. Karen Simpkins

He needs to be brought back. You will lose many fans if he isn’t allowed to come back. I know of many in our circle that have said that’s it for them. No more NASCAR.

    1. Gordon Hannah

Let him back for godsake. He thought it was a private exchange with his team mate. This political politeness thing is way out of hand.

  4. wayne pretts

He humiliated himself and the Nascar family, He has to live with that and I truly believe he is sorry, He as paid a real price for his actions and if let back in the cup series he will have to stand out as a man who made a mistake but became a better person for it. Let him race

  5. Wasn’t it Kurt Bush that got suspended a few years back for beating up his wife? He’s back. Think this would be much worse than using the n word. JMO

    1. That was proven to be untrue. He did not abuse his girlfriend and was actually granted a restraining order against her.

  6. There are many things he could have called the guy during the irace. The fact that he let that one fly seems to imply he has an issue. You listen to the radios at a race and there are words flying when things happen but never that word. Whether he knew everyone could here or just one guy does not excuse him from what he did. I guess he does have terrible remorse because he made it to the top tier in stock car racing, got caught and is now suspended indefinitely. Remorse for a lost paycheck and all the endorsements that had or may have come to him.

  7. Forgiveness is how we should be. We all make mistakes God forgives us. Kyle Larson is a good family man and a good driver . Give him a chance.

  8. Robin Stevenson

He made a mistake it’s a bad one but we all deserve a second chance he has shown alot of remorse and I believe him plus he’s hood for our sport

  9. He does need to come back, but not to the man with a weak spine he didn’t even have his back. I believe the best team would be Tony Stewart he knows controversy. He would of had his back. Tony,Tony,Tony give Kyle a ride you won’t regret it??????

    1. Arlan Walters

That is for sure. NASCAR has a short memory. We need another series to start, get back to old time racing, stock cars, not a Cookie cutter car like NASCAR has dreamed up.

  10. Terry Ballam

Anyone can make a mistake. He worked hard to get to the top tier. He apologized and is sorry for what he did. He deserves a chance.!!

  11. Ingrid Jarman

He has paid his penance. Nascar made a example out of him. He and his family has suffered for his mistake. Let him race ENOUGH!

  12. Give Kyle a break look what NASCAR’s past has been Winston, promoting cigarette’s and the southern 500 Rebel flags were throughout the infield

  13. Absolutely bring him back to NASCAR. Great driver and deserves a second chance. If we are honest with ourselves, we have all made mistakes in our life especially in our younger years. One moment and one mistake does not define a person. Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone. John 8:7.

  14. Gordon Bates

This is just the type of thing that is hurting NASCAR. They expect perfection at all times and come down hard when a fine or short suspension would do, it s costing them viewers and fans. A few here and a few more there and ratings are down and stands are empty (of course now they are really empty). sponsor see this and they leave. The “GODS” of NASCAR need to lighten up!

  15. People need put there big boy pants on and stop crying about there front but getting hurt and let the man prove himself

  16. I have mixed feelings about it. 1. he said it while not knowing we could hear him, so is he sorry he said it and got caught? or because he didn’t think anyone heard it, a word he uses often. Or truly sorry that he said it at all? He did take the class, But Nascar does have rules and the sponsors are the ones that don’t want that type of negativity and are mainly the decision makers on whether they drive or not!! Yes he is a good driver and had a lot going for him, but that was a major error on his part!

    1. Who cares what he said… it’s a word rappers use constantly and you can buy a cd in any Walmart for Christ sake…. get over it

  17. A.C. Gurganus

i think he deserves to come back We are all human and we all makes mistakes and he has shown total remorse

  18. Kyle Larson . Is a very clean driver and very good for nascar to have around the young guys look up to him ,and can learn how to be a pro Bring him back

  19. Well Dale Senior was my driver. I started watching NASCAR in 1980 and when I watched Kyle race go karts before NASCAR I became a fan. When I watched him race in the truck race at Eldoro dirt track I became areal hard core fan of his. He is my driver !!! Finally someone I love to watch that drives a Chevy. No disrespect for Ford or any other brand but I’m a Chevy fan. And if he’s not in a Chevy I’m not watching NASCAR anymore. No disrespect for Tony Stewart I like Tony but that’s a Ford organization. I have threatened to stop watching NASCAR two or three times because of what they have done to people. Especially what they done to Michael Waltrip. This has just about done me in with NASCAR . Love Kyle Larson and I want to see him in a Chevy so I have someone to Cher for. If not then I’ll stop watching!!! And I would hate that because NASCAR is my favorite sport. Only one left that still does National Anthem and balieaves in God and has prayer. And stands for our country. Let’s forgive like the Bible says and let him come back and let him come back to a Chevy or this is it for me.

  20. Angelo Morton

I love Nascar because I love racing. Yeah people make mistakes but they know the rules. I see a lot of Confederate flags at races so what image are we trying to portray. He should be required to complete service programs for underprivileged kids and see the other side of the coin and be suspended for the upcoming season. Take a year to reflect. There are consequences to your actions.

  21. Patty Bordenca

I hope he is back in a car next year or this year; the #48 sounds good to me …Go Kyle Larson…

  22. Bennie Raynor

I hope he can come back every body makes mistakes he has said he was sorry. I thank NASCAR should give him a chance

  23. John Morreau

From what I’ve read the vast majority of fans ,including myself, want to see Kyle get another chance,so bring him back now .Why wait?

  24. Kristine Morey

I want to know how many of the other drivers have said something that they shouldn’t have and no one heard them or just didn’t make a big deal of it. Everyone makes mistakes once in their life time, I’m sure we are all guilty of this too.

  25. Douglas Rumsey

He made a simple stupid mistake, while other drivers can cuss out his team, Nascar sponsors and make gestures on national TV and nothing is done to them. Bring Kyle Back and put him in one of Stewart-Haas cars.

  26. Kyle Larsen should be welcomed back into NASCAR with open arms. His remorse was instant and he is willing to take whatever action is required of him, without complaint. We ALL are imperfect. We ALL require forgiveness. To withhold acceptance from Kyle reflects badly on NASCAR and their teams and their sponsors.

  27. I don’t understand why we have a double standard,on that one word, one can say it and another says it and everyone goes nuts,,as I was watching the news of this, one announced that the word has no business being in anybody’s vocabulary, but yet as I tune thru my radio it doesn’t take long till you hear that word with a certain type of music,,but God forbid anyone to condem aperson using that in a song,,it was very sad to see what they did to Kyle,,
