The Hendrick Motorsports are in a unique and quite favorable position when it comes to NASCAR Cup Series drivers lineup for their 2021 campaign.
Just Days after the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series campaign ended, 7-time champion #48 Jimmie Johnson announced that the 2020 campaign would be his 19th and final one behind the steering of the Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports as a full-time driver.
Late October, before JJ had stated that the 2020 campaign would be his final, Ally Financial, which had already been under a deal to serve as the primary sponsor of the #48 Chevrolet on a full-time basis in 2020, extended their contract with the team by an additional three years until 2023.
NASCAR: Unexpected change in Hendrick Motorsports’ future?
Ally Financial signed a multi-year deal ahead of the 2019 campaign to replace Lowe’s as Johnson’s full-time main sponsor.
