NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson has wanted to test IndyCar for years now. While the driver confirmed that the 2020 season will mark his 19th and final season as a full-time driver in NASCAR, he wanted to try IndyCar and stated on numerous occasions of his intentions.
The Seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, Jimmie Johnson, was scheduled to test a Chevrolet-powered IndyCar for Arrow McLaren SP at Barber Motorsports Park on April 6. However, with all the racing activities suspended due to the rising coronavirus pandemic, the driver’s “bucket list” was put on hold too.
I won’t be testing in April but @IndyCar is still on my bucket list. I’m looking forward to the day I get out there and rip a few laps pic.twitter.com/sNEA92xqXo

But this is not to say that he cannot fulfill his “bucket list”, at least virtually. Be it a virtual track, Jimmie Jonhson will finally take part in the IndyCar iRacing Challenge racing series.
Johnson posted a gif on Twitter to let his fans know about the event.

He participated in the NASCAR iRacing event at Homestead-Miami Speedway last weekend, where he finished 31st in a 35-car field.
While it might not be the start at IndyCar that Jimmie Johnson Jimmie Johnsonwas looking for, at least he is more closer to his dream of ticking off one item from his “bucket list”. Hopefully, he will be racing in the real IndyCar event soon.
