Indy 500 postponed until August due to COVID-19 pandemic

The Indianapolis 500 scheduled for May 24 has been postponed until August due to the worldwide pandemic coronavirus.

This will be the first time ever in INDYCAR history that the Indianapolis 500 has taken place outside of the month of May. The Grand Prix of Indianapolis has also been postponed and will now take place on Saturday, July 4; the same weekend as the NASCAR Cup Series & NASCAR XFINITY Series races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

New detail emerges on Floyd Mayweather team – NASCAR

It won’t run on Memorial Day weekend for the first time since 1946. The race will instead be held on August the 23, 2020.
